La tour (Paris, Tokyo, Osaka)

A l’occasion du centenaire de la tour Tsutenkaku et de l’ouverture de la tour Sky Three à Tokyo, le Musée d’Histoire d’Osaka (大阪歴史博物館) tient du 23 mai au 16 juillet une exposition consacrée aux tours dans les villes de Paris, Tokyo et Osaka et accueille une série de documents sur la Tour Eiffel prêtés par le Musée d’Orsay.

平成24年5月23日（水）～7月16日（月・祝）

大阪歴史博物館では、平成24年5月23日（水）から7月16日（月・祝）まで、6階の特別展示室において、特別展「ザ・タワー　～都市と塔のものがたり～」を開催します。

平成24年7月、大阪を代表する塔である通天閣が開業して100周年を迎えます。その記念すべき年に、東京では新たなランドマークとなる塔、東京スカイツリーが開業します。

都市に塔があるとき、人は遠くからその姿を眺め、近寄って足元から見上げ、登り、塔上から風景を見晴らし、そしてその記憶を思い出として残します。

この展覧会では、19世紀末から20世紀にかけての3つの都市－パリ・東京・大阪に生まれた塔を中心に、そこで繰り広げられたさまざまな「都市と塔のものがたり」を、オルセー美術館の貴重なエッフェル塔関連資料と江戸東京博物館所蔵資料などから紹介します。

酒井健治さん、国際音楽コンクールでグランプリ

【ブリュッセル＝工藤武人】ベルギーで開催中のエリザベート王妃国際音楽コンクールの作曲部門で、パリ在住の日本人作曲家、酒井健治さん（３４）が、「バイオリンとオーケストラのための協奏曲」で、グランプリを獲得した。

　同コンクールが１８日、ホームページ上で発表した。

　作曲部門で日本人のグランプリは３５年ぶり。

　酒井さんは１９７７年大阪府池田市出身。京都市立芸術大や仏国立パリ高等音楽院、ジュネーブ音楽院などで作曲や電子音楽を学んだ。武満徹作曲賞１位（２００９年度）などの受賞歴がある。

　酒井さんは「電子音楽の研究を通じて得たアイデアも盛り込んだ。有名なこのコンクールへの初出品で受賞できてうれしい」と話した。

　エリザベート王妃国際音楽コンクールは、ショパン、チャイコフスキーの両国際コンクールと並ぶ世界３大コンクールの一つ。作曲部門のほか、バイオリン、ピアノ、声楽部門がある。

Japanese composer takes 1st prize at intl music competition

BRUSSELS--Kenji Sakai, a Japanese composer living in Paris, has won the Queen Elisabeth International Grand Prizefor Composition, the award's organizers have announced.

Sakai, 34, won the grand prize in composition for his orchestra and violin concerto, the organizer's website said Friday. It was the first time in 35 years that a Japanese has won the grand prize in the composition category.

Born in Ikeda, Osaka Prefecture, in 1977, Sakai studied composition and electronic music at such schools as Kyoto City University of Arts, Conservatoire de Paris (National Superieur de Musique et de Danse) and Conservatoire de Musique de Geneve. In 2009, he won the Toru Takemitsu Composition Award.

"I incorporated [into the composition] ideas I acquired while studying electronic music. I'm delighted to win the award for the first work I entered into the competition," Sakai said.

Pop Culture and the Europeanization of Japanese Women's Fashion, 1955-1965

The Kansai Modern Japan Group will host a talk by Michael Furmanovsky
(Ryukoku University), entitled,

 

"Pop Culture and the Europeanization of Japanese Women's Fashion, 1955-1965."

Popular culture had a major influence on the development of mainstream women's fashion in the Showa 30s (1955-65). During these years, significant elements among the ranks of urbanized upper middle-class women looked to Europe, and especially Paris and London, as the source of all that was modern and sophisticated. This presentation describes how pre-war European cultural preferences and post-war American popular-culture  influences combined with domestic economic and socio-cultural movements during the late 1950s to shape the fashion styles adopted by middle-class Japanese women of the 1960s. The lecture will focus on 1950s western and Japanese films; fashion magazines; dress-making schools and mass media images of early-1960s female pop icons. The presenter hopes to provide an insight into the nature of the female-driven consumer boom of the post-occupation decade that allowed Japan's fashion industry to emerge from American cultural domination and develop a European-focused fashion sensibility.

Presenter Bio: Michael Furmanovsky is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Intercultural Communication at Ryukoku University. His published work includes articles on the postwar history of Japanese popular music, especially country, rokabiri and Group Sounds. He is currently studying the impact of movies and popular music on the formation of urban women’s fashion and identity from 1950 to 1965.

Monique Larouche est une artiste internationale qui a exposé quatre fois à Paris, dans plusieurs galeries canadiennes et au Musée de Charlevoix au Québec. Elle est boursière du Conseil des Arts du Manitoba et du Conseil des Arts de Winnipeg. Détentrice d’un doctorat en psychopédagogie, sa thèse porte sur l’utilisation du dessin et de la peinture pour le développement de la conscience et de l’estime de soi. Cette première exposition à Kyoto est pour l’artiste l’occasion de remercier les Japonais pour leur contribution au développement de son art.

モ ニク・ラルーシュは国際的に活躍するアーティスト。パリで四度の展覧会の他、カナダの数々のギャラリーやケベックのシャルルヴォワ美術館でも展示をしまし た。マニトバ芸術委員会やウィニペグ芸術委員会から助成金を得て活動。デッサンや絵画を用いた自意識や自己認識の発達をテーマにした博士論文で、教育心理 学の博士号を取得しています。今回、京都で初めての展覧会が学館で開催されます。この展覧会は、作家本人にとって、自分自身の芸術を深めるきっかけをくれ た日本の人々に、感謝を伝える機会でもあります。
